This week's meeting was dedicated to finishing up the Citizen Badge! So far the girls have participated in the Memorial Day Parade, the Flag Ceremony, learned about anthems, logos, what a motto is, and the importance of those things in our community. The final piece for the Citizen Badge last night was going on a "flag walk." We walked around the church neighborhood and spotted several flags! Most were American Flags displayed in peoples' yards, but we did see the State of Michigan flag, too!
Also, some of the badges the girls have earned were sent home last night! I can't wait to see the Girls wearing them proudly on their vest/sash!
Next week's meeting is at Branstrom park at 6:00 p.m. for our Bridging Ceremony! Please have your Girl Scout dressed nicely, hair combed, clean and neat, and wearing her Girl Scout shirt and Brownie vest or sash. The second year Brownies are flying up to become Juniors! Parents and grandparents are invited to attend - can't wait to see you there!SAVE THE DATE!
- On Friday, July 10 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Courtney is hosting the Girl Scouts at her home for a cookout and campfire! Lots of fun activities are planned for the girls!
- Monday, July 13 is the Amazing Race Beach Party at Branstrom Park from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. If you haven't paid the $8 registration fee for your Girl Scout, please bring it to the the next meeting.
- Instead of our normal meeting on Monday, July 27, parent's are invited to attend the meeting at Lakeside Swirl for ice cream and watch their kids play at the park! You're welcome to stay to let your Girl Scout swim in the lake after the meeting is over - there will be no swimming during the scheduled meeting time of 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
