11/9/2015 Meeting Update

What We Did

We worked more on the aMuse badge at the meeting last night.  The girls are working on looking at stereotypes that society places on girls and women, and identifying all the different roles they play in the world.

Last night each girl made a list of six girls (women) they know and identified the roles they play: caregiver, mom, cook, teacher, bus driver, etc.  And they thought about how each person acts and what parts of the Girl Scout Law they exemplify: honest, fair, friendly, helpful, caring, etc.

We had some great conversations!

Make-Up Information

If your daughter wasn't able to attend last night's meeting, it's very important that she complete the activity we did.  The aMuse badge is different than most badges we earn - it's a "journey," which means its very long and in-depth.  If she isn't able to complete all parts of aMuse, she won't get a badge - and there's way too much work involved for her to not get one because she missed one or two meetings.

You'll need to download and print this form and have your daughter think of girls/women to list in the first column, and then answers the questions about each one in the rest of the columns going across the page.

Also, go to our Links page and all the way to the bottom, in the Forms section, download and print the Badge Activity Make-Up Form to turn in to the leader.

Next Week

Next week's meeting is CANCELLED.

Other Information

Last Friday was the "So You Want To Be An Artist" at the Muskegon Service Center.  This was a council activity that our troop was invited to participate in.  Three girls from our troop went and they had an amazing time!

An instructor walked them through painting a canvas of a snow globe - check out these pictures!
